The idea that we have five senses — vision, hearing, smell, touch, and taste — can be traced back to Aristotle. After defining them, he went on to reject the notion of there being more than five. Yet for centuries scientists have debated over the possible existence of other senses. However, proprioception is sometimes called the “sixth sense.”
In Prometheus’ orthogonality vertical axis, there are seven entries. From bottom to top are ethics, information system, science, research, author, art, and poetry.
In Prometheus’ Point Nemo, there are seven posts. From top to bottom are Poseidon’s Creation, The Decay of Logos, Honoris Causa, Mone, Vector for Victory, Meon, and Omen.
Pottery in Jars of Clay has seven letters. So does the anagram of it, which is Poet try.
… I’m trying!
In 1956, Miller conjectured that there is an upper limit on our capacity to process information on simultaneously interacting elements with reliable accuracy and with validity. This limit is seven plus or minus two elements.
Miller also found humans remembered chunks of information, interrelating bits using some scheme, and the limit applied to chunks.
In cognitive psychology, chunking is a process by which individual pieces of an information set are broken down (seperation-division) and then grouped together in a meaningful whole (logic).
Short-term memory (STM) is the second stage of the multi-store memory model proposed by the Atkinson-Shiffrin. The duration of STM seems to be between 15 and 30 seconds, and the capacity about 7 items.
Depression has been linked to memory problems, such as forgetfulness or confusion. It can also make it difficult to focus on work or other tasks, make decisions, or think clearly. Stress and anxiety can also lead to poor memory. Depression is associated with short-term memory loss.
Researchers found that short-term stress-activated certain molecules that in turn limit processes in the brain’s learning and memory region. As a result, given the link between anxiety and stress, both long-term and short-term anxiety can impact memory.
A 2018 analysis of earlier studies into the effects of depression and memory found that people with at least one symptom of depression self-reported memory complaints and other symptoms of depression. This suggests that memory loss could be a symptom of depression.
Some older people may mistake symptoms of depression as dementia. According to an older article, depression may cause a person to perform worse on brain function tests over time.
An article in the British Journal of Psychiatry indicates that some affective disorders, including depression, may increase the risk of dementia, especially if a person does not seek treatment.
People who have depression report struggling to recall particular memories. This suggests that depression can affect different types of memory, including declarative and autobiographical memories (somebody).
These findings (among others) support the idea that depression could reduce the performance of declarative memory, which involves the memory of facts and events.
The authors of the study hypothesize that depression may slow down the creation of nerve cells. This could make it difficult to form or access new memories.
Point Nemo (Mr.Nobody) and Poetry are in connection with the memory remains hypotenuse line of the orthogonal triangle.
Consequently, as a 7th sense, “remember”… poetry!
